The 9th MPT-EXPO to Be Held in Zhengzhou in Sep

Approved by the National Cultural Heritage Administration, the 9th Chinese Exposition of Museums and Relevant Products and Technologies (MPT-EXPO), co-hosted by the Chinese Museum Association, the Chinese Association of Natural Science Museums and the People's Government of Zhengzhou, will be held at Zhengzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center from September 1 to 4 with the theme of "Museums in the New Era: Innovation, Development and Inheritance", said a source from the Information Office of the People's Government of Zhengzhou.

MPT-EXPO, first held in 2004, has become one of the world's three major expositions of the museum sector as well as the largest one focusing on museums in Asia.

Ding Ding

The mascot Ding Ding is designed from the Rectangular Ding with Animal Mask Motif (Ding, an ancient cooking vessel with two loop handles and three or four legs, usually served as a symbol of dynasty) of the Shang Dynasty (1600 BC-1046 BC) unearthed from Zhengzhou. The mascot is mainly colored with bronze rust, representing Zhengzhou's profound history and its nickname "Green City". The ribbon of the mascot is designed from the Yellow River, the cradle of Chinese civilization. The mascot in a leaping posture expresses its warm welcome to the people across the world.

Covering 60 thousand square meters, the 9th MPT-EXPO is divided into 4 exhibition areas with participants from 645 museums and enterprises.
