Henan's Jan-July Actual Use of Foreign Capital Surges 396.1%

In the first 7 months of this year, 168 foreign-funded enterprises were newly registered in Henan, with the actual use of foreign capital jumping 391.6 percent year-on-year to 1.24 billion US dollars across the province, 370 percentage points higher than the national average, said a source from the Department of Commerce of Henan Province on August 30.

8月30日，记者从省商务厅获悉，今年前7个月，河南全省新设立外资企业168家，实际使用外资12.4亿美元，与去年同期相比（下同）增长391.6%，高于全国平均增幅370个百分点。

Since this year, a number of major foreign-funded projects have been successfully launched. Kingstar Investments (HK) Limited set up a meat company in Jiaxian county of Pingdingshan city with an investment of 170 million US dollars while an anti-corrosion technology company was launched by a Malaysian merchant in Changyuan with an investment of 100 million US dollars. Besides, a number of well-known enterprises, such as China Resources New Energy Group Company, Mapletree Group (Singapore) and COFCO Flour Company (HK), expanded their investment in Henan, injecting new vitality to Henan's high-quality economic development.

今年以来，一批重大外资项目顺利落地。金星投资（香港）有限公司在郏县设立了河南贝吉尔肉食品有限公司，投资总额1.7亿美元。马来西亚客商在长垣市设立了威士伯（河南）防腐科技有限公司，投资额1亿美元。此外，香港华润新能源、新加坡丰树集团、香港中粮面业等一批知名企业在豫扩大投资，为我省经济高质量发展注入活力。

　　

While the scale of investment continued to expand, the structure of foreign capital utilization in Henan was also being optimized and adjusted over the past 7 months. During this period, the actual use of foreign capital in service sector kept growing. It is worth noting that the actual use of foreign capital by the new foreign-funded service enterprises expanded 413.6 percent to 1.13 billion US dollars, accounting for 91.1 percent of the provincial total. Besides, Henan witnessed 52 newly established high-tech industrial enterprises involving R&D and design services, transformation of sci-tech achievements, etc., which further promotes the transformation and upgrading of Henan's industrial structure.

在投资规模不断扩大的同时，我省利用外资结构也在优化调整。前7个月，全省服务业领域使用外资继续保持增长，新设服务业外资企业实际使用外资11.3亿美元，增长413.6%，占全省实际使用外资总额的91.1%。此外，全省新设高技术产业企业52家，涉及研发与设计服务、科技成果转化等，将进一步推动我省产业结构转型升级。

　　

Henan's source of foreign capital was widely expanded. So far, the actual use of foreign capital in Henan has involved 29 countries and regions worldwide. Henan saw surging investment from countries and regions along the Belt and Road. During the period, Henan embraced 19 new foreign-funded enterprises from 9 countries under the Belt and Road Initiative, such as Singapore, Vietnam, Myanmar, Malaysia, with the actual funds in place reaching 960 million dollars, accounting for 77.5 percent of the province's actual use of foreign capital.

全省利用外资来源更加广泛。目前我省实际使用外资涉及29个国家和地区。值得关注的是，随着我省深入融入“一带一路”建设，“一带一路”沿线国家和地区在豫投资规模持续扩大。前7个月，有9个沿线国家在我省新设外资企业19家，包括新加坡、越南、缅甸、马来西亚等，实际到位资金9.6亿美元，占全省实际使用外资的77.5%。（中文来源/河南日报 记者/孙静 编译/赵汉青 杨佳欣 审校/焦丹）
