Sea Freight Route from Zhoukou to Mundra Launched
周口中心港开通至印度蒙德拉港集装箱航线
Sounding a long whistle, a freighter fully loaded with containers departed Zhoukou port (Zhoukou, Henan province) on the morning of September 1 for Port of Mundra (India), marking a new sea freight route was launched in Henan.
“豫货出海”再添新航线。9月1日上午，周口中心港至印度蒙德拉港集装箱航线开通，在悠长的汽笛声中，一艘满载集装箱的货轮缓缓离开码头。
"On the board are over 70 tons of goods, which are mainly new types of indoor decorative wall panels." According to Chen Erping, chairman of a new material company in Xiangcheng (a county-level city of Zhoukou), as required by its industrial upgrading his company moved here from Hangzhou city (Zhejiang province) two years ago for favorable shipping conditions.
“船上有我们公司的70多吨货，主要是室内新型装饰墙板。”项城市佳阳新材料科技有限公司董事长陈二平告诉记者，两年前，公司因产业升级需要内迁，加上看中了周口便利的航运条件，就把企业从杭州搬迁至周口。
"In the past, it cost 5,000 yuan to ship a container from Hangzhou to a sea port. Now, the cost of per container shipping has decreased by about 3,000 yuan from Zhoukou port to Zhoushan port despite a relatively longer distance." Chen also expressed confidence in his company's future with the advantage of Zhoukou port.
“过去，货物从杭州运到出海港口，每箱运费大约5000元，现在通过周口港发往舟山港转海运，每箱运费只需要2000多元。虽说距离远了，但运输成本降了一半多。”陈二平说，相信借助周口港的水运优势，公司一定会快速做大做强。
So far, more than 30 trade and logistics companies have settled here. In the first half of this year, the cargo throughput of Zhoukou port saw a year-on-year increase of 40 percent to 4.64 million tons while the container throughput 73.6 percent to 20,968 TEUs. More than 20 kinds of goods from more than 10 provinces and cities across China have been transferred to other countries around the world via Zhoukou port by virtue of the convenient customs clearance system.
据了解，目前周口港已入驻航线、商贸、物流公司30多家，今年上半年货物吞吐量达到464万吨，同比增长40%；集装箱吞吐量20968标箱，同比增长73.6%。国内10多个省市的20多种货物在周口港上岸，箱、船、车等水运业务无缝衔接，采取一单通关模式，箱通世界、货运全球。
"Two international sea freight routes linking Zhoukou with Dubai and Bangkok respectively will open recently to promote the development of foreign trade and enhance the position of Zhoukou port as a comprehensive regional transport hub, thus boosting Henan's export-oriented economy," said Du Guangxian, a Party member of the CPC Zhoukou Port Logistics Cluster Zone Management Committee.
