Henan's Autumn Harvest Basically Completed

河南省秋收基本结束

Autumn is a harvest season. So far, 114.77 million mu (1 mu equals 0.067 hectares) of autumn crops has been harvested across Central China's Henan province, accounting for 96.4 percent of the province's total planting area, said local authority on October 18. That is to say, Henan's fall harvest has almost come to an end except for some late varieties, such as the rice along the Yellow River, sweet potatoes, etc.

金秋时节，希望的田野铺满丰收的画卷。10月18日，河南省农业农村厅发布农情调度数据显示，全省秋作物已收获11477万亩，占种植面积的96.4%。除部分沿黄水稻和红薯等晚茬作物外，全省秋收基本结束。

Apart from such grain crops as maize, rice and soybean as well as the oil crops like peanut and sesame, cotton, fruits, vegetables, Chinese medicinal materials and flowers are also Henan's main autumn crops.

据了解，河南秋作物包括玉米、水稻、大豆等粮食作物，花生、芝麻等油料作物，棉花，瓜菜，中药材和花卉等。

"Statistics show that Henan's grain output this year is expected to exceed 130 billion jin (1 jin equals 0.5 kg)," said a source from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Henan Province.

“从调度数据看，今年秋粮喜获丰收，完成全年1300亿斤以上的粮食生产目标任务有把握。”河南省农业农村厅相关负责人表示。

Fall harvest is progressing orderly with wheat sowing. Henan is the largest wheat producer in China with 1/4 of China's wheat production every year. So far, 25.78 million mu of wheat has been sown, accounting for 30.2 percent of the planned total.
