President Xi Jinping delivered a speech at the 17th G20 Leaders' Summit in Bali, Indonesia on Tuesday.
Here're some highlights from his speech:
On meeting challenges of the time
Faced with challenges, all countries should embrace the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind, and advocate peace, development, and win-win cooperation, Xi said.
Xi called on all G20 members to lead by example in promoting development of all nations, improving the well-being for the whole mankind, and advancing progress of the entire world.
He also put forward a three-point proposal, saying that we should make the global development more inclusive, beneficial to all and more resilient.
On opposing politicization of food, energy issues
The world should resolutely oppose the attempt to politicize food and energy issues or use them as tools and weapons, Xi said.
Food and energy security is the most pressing challenge in global development, Xi noted, adding that the root cause of the current crisis is not production or demand, but interrupted supply chains and international cooperation.
On debt reduction and suspension for developing countries
China is implementing the G20's Debt Service Suspension Initiative (DSSI) in all respects, and has suspended the largest amount of debt service payment among all G20 members, Xi said.
Meanwhile, China is working with some G20 members on the debt treatment under the Common Framework for Debt Treatment beyond the DSSI, thus helping relevant developing countries navigate through the difficult time, Xi said.
On supporting AU to join G20
Xi said that China supports the African Union to join the G20.
