Every year, more than 800 thousand fans worldwide flock to Chenjiagou to learn Tai Chi. Admittedly, Tai Chi has become a bridge of communication and a bond of affection for people from different countries.

Originating from Chenjiagou village of Jiaozuo city in Central China's Henan province in the mid-17th century, Tai Chi has developed into several schools (or styles) named after a clan or a master's personal name based on the Chen-style Tai Chi after generations of inheritance and innovation. Tai Chi is a traditional physical practice deriving from the traditional Chinese philosophy and health concept, such as the theories of yin and yang and the unity of heaven and humanity. The yin and yang philosophy of Tai Chi comes in pairs, such as dynamic and static, fast and slow. The Chinese believe that "dynamic" is contained in "static" and "fast" in "slow", and Tai Chi is the combination of these energies. Its fighting principle is to maneuver the internal energy flows to achieve speed and power. Tai Chi stresses breath regulation and the cultivation of a righteous and neutral mind. Its basic movements center on five steps and eight techniques with a series of routines, exercises and hand-pushing skills. Practicing Tai Chi helps keep one's body and mind healthy and in harmony with nature.

Tai Chi, a shining pearl of the Yellow River civilization, is a representative of traditional Chinese culture. With a history of more than 300 years, Tai Chi has become a name card for the world to know Jiaozuo, Henan and even China.
