Henan dispatches 62 medics to Africa for medical aid
62名“健康使者”奔赴非洲

Formed by the medical staff from Central China's Henan province, 3 Chinese medical teams for foreign aid of 2023 solemnly swore an oath at a flag-awarding ceremony (farewell party) held by the Henan Provincial Health Commission in Zhengzhou, provincial capital of Henan, on the morning of April 8.
“我们将牢记援外医疗光荣使命，不负祖国人民重托，弘扬中国援外医疗队精神……”4月8日上午，河南省卫健委在郑州举行2023年中国援外医疗队授旗仪式暨欢送会，由河南医疗组建的3支中国援外医疗队接过队旗后庄严宣誓。
The 3 Chinese medical teams, namely the 24th batch of medical team to Ethiopia, the 24th batch of medical team to Zambia and the 16th batch of medical team to Eritrea, consists of 62 medical staff from 24 hospitals, colleges and universities across Henan. Among them are senior experts, young backbone medical staff, experienced surgeons, and traditional Chinese medicine inheritors specialized in acupuncture therapy.
3支医疗队分别是中国援埃塞俄比亚第24批医疗队、援赞比亚第24批医疗队、援厄立特里亚第16批医疗队，62名队员来自河南省24家医院和高校。他们中，有资深专家，也有年轻的骨干医生；有擅长手术的外科大夫，也有精研针灸的中医传承人。
During their aid missions in Africa, the 3 Chinese medical teams will innovate and improve the cooperation mechanisms with local hospitals to fit their specific needs and keep the medical assistant programs running smoothly.
根据部署，3支援非医疗队工作期间，将精准对接受援国需求，创新与受援医院的合作机制，持续推进援外医疗项目建设。
A total of 60 years has passed since China sent its first medical team to Africa. Since 1973, Henan has successively sent medical teams Ethiopia, Zambia and Eritrea in Africa.
