Gazing South · On the Nectar Terrace is one of the classics of Su Shi (1037-1101), a renowned Song Dynasty (960-1279) poet. The first part of the poem depicts scenery while the second expresses the author's feeling. By depicting the spring scenery and delineating the author's complex emotions, this poem expresses Su Shi's open-minded and romantic characters, and his positive and optimistic attitude towards life. This poem inspires us: Time passes easily, and it will be a pity if you don't seize it and always dwell on the past. Why not grasp the prime of life and do something meaningful? Seize the day, and seize the hour; be young, and be romantic.
