China's tourism sector has seen a boom "off the scale" during the five-day May Day holiday, with both the number of domestic tourists and tourism revenue exceeding the pre-COVID levels of the same period, data from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China showed. Statistically, China saw 274 million domestic tourist trips during the holiday, up 70.83 percent year-on-year, recovering to 119.09 percent of the level in the same period of 2019. Besides, its domestic tourism revenue expanded 128.90 percent year-on-year to 148.056 billion yuan, recovering to 100.66 percent of the 2019 level.
2023年“五一”假期正式收官,根据文旅部披露的数据,文旅消费火热,国内旅游人次和国内旅游收入全面超过疫情前同期。经文化和旅游部数据中心测算,全国国内旅游出游合计2.74亿人次,同比增长70.83%,按可比口径恢复至2019年同期的119.09%;实现国内旅游收入1480.56亿元,同比增长128.90%,按可比口径恢复至2019年同期的100.66%。
By 14 o'clock, May 4, a total of 17 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions released their tourism-related figures for the May Day holiday. Among them, 16 received over 331 million tourists totally and 15 reported a total of 244.399 billion yuan of tourism revenue.
截至5月4日14时,全国内地共有17个省市自治区披露“五一”假期相关旅游数据。据已披露的数据来看,16个省份接待游客总量超过3.31亿人次;15个省份实现旅游总收入约2443.99亿元。
Specifically, Henan province embraced 55.18 million tourists, ranking 1st among the 16 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions mentioned above, while Guangdong province 45.461 million, ranking the 2nd place. Besides, Jiangsu province and Zhejiang province received 39.8818 million and 31.25 million tourists respectively, ranking 3rd and 4th.
