High-grade sheep from Australia arrive in Henan
两架活羊包机落地郑州机场 郑州航空港区进境动物隔离场迎来今年首单任务
Loaded with live sheep, two chartered planes from Australia arrived at Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport in Zhengzhou city of Central China's Henan province on May 4 and 5. The sheep will be quarantined for 45 days at a designated farm in Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone.
5月4日和5日，两架从澳大利亚进口活羊的包机抵达郑州新郑国际机场，这批活羊随即进入郑州航空港经济综合实验区进境动物隔离场，开始为期45天的隔离检疫。
Weighing 140 tons, the total 3,825 sheep are valued at 50 million yuan, including Saanen and Alpine breeds which have been imported for several times and mainly transported to Shaanxi, Inner Mongolia and other places across China. These breeds are playing an important role in enriching China's genetic resources of sheep, expanding its high-quality breeding flock and increasing the average milk yield.
据了解，此次进口活羊共3825只，140余吨，货值5000万元，主要品种有萨能、阿尔卑斯、东弗里生和陶赛特。其中，萨能和阿尔卑斯种用奶山羊已多次进口，主要运往陕西、内蒙古等地，对于丰富羊种基因资源、扩大优质种群、提高种群平均产奶量等有着重要作用。（中文来源/河南日报 记者/杨凌 编译/杨佳欣 审校/焦丹）
