Liu Yujiang meets with Uruguayan Minister Fernando Mattos

On May 12, Liu Yujiang (vice-governor of the People's Government of Henan Province) met with Fernando Mattos (head of the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries of Uruguay) and his team in Zhengzhou, the capital city of Henan.
5月12日，河南省副省长刘玉江在郑州会见乌拉圭农牧渔业部部长费尔南多·马托斯一行。
Liu welcomed Fernando Mattos and his delegation's visit to Henan and briefed them on the province's history, culture, resources, location, transportation, economic development, etc. Liu pointed out that in recent years, Henan has been making every effort to build a more competitive inland open economic highland by earnestly implementing the Belt and Road Initiative and taking advantage of its four Silk Roads (i.e. Silk Road in the Air, Silk Road by Land, Maritime Silk Road and Online Silk Road). China is Uruguay's largest trading partner, while Uruguay is the first country in the Southern Common Market (Mercosur) to sign a memorandum of understanding on the Belt and Road Initiative with China. Liu also remarked that Henan and Uruguay have close agricultural cooperation and booming cultural and people-to-people exchanges, and it is expected that the two sides will continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation, consolidate the bilateral friendship, promote mutual benefit and win-win results, achieve common development and bring more tangible benefits to the two peoples.
刘玉江对马托斯一行访问河南表示欢迎，并简要介绍了河南历史文化、资源禀赋、区位交通、经济发展等方面基本情况。刘玉江指出，近年来，河南认真贯彻落实“一带一路”倡议，依托空、陆、网、海“四条丝绸之路”，持续打造更具竞争力的内陆开放高地。中国是乌拉圭第一大贸易伙伴，乌拉圭也是首个与中国签署“一带一路”合作谅解备忘录的南方共同市场国家，河南与乌拉圭农业合作密切、人文交流频繁，希望双方持续加强交流合作，巩固两地友谊，促进互利共赢，实现共同发展，为两地人民带来更多实实在在的好处。
Fernando Mattos remarked that Uruguay and Henan, enjoying a sound foundation of cooperation, are highly complementary in agriculture, water conservancy, science and technology and have conducted extensive and fruitful exchanges and cooperation, hoping to continue to strengthen practical cooperation with Henan, seek common development and share the fruits of development.
费尔南多·马托斯表示，乌拉圭与河南合作基础良好，双方在农业、水利、科技等领域具有很强互补性，开展了广泛而富有成果的交流合作，希望与河南继续加强务实合作，共谋发展机遇，共享发展成果。（中文来源/河南日报 编译/杨佳欣 审校/张军平）
