August 15 marks China's 1st National Ecology Day. In recent years, Henan has been enhancing the diversity, stability and sustainability of ecosystems. As a result of the government's intensifying efforts, a series of policies implemented have made Henan a beautiful province with blue sky, green vegetation and clear rivers.
今年8月15日是首个全国生态日。近年来，河南着力提升生态系统多样性、稳定性、持续性，加大生态系统保护力度，一系列生态“组合拳”让天蓝、地绿、水清的美丽河南成为现实。
So far, Henan has built 345 nature reserves, effectively protecting 95 percent of the province's wildlife species under special state protection and 80 percent of the typical ecosystem, with the national wetland protection rate reaching 53.26 percent. The overall ecological quality of Henan has improved obviously.
截至目前，全省345处各类自然保护地，有效保护了全省95%的国家重点保护野生动植物物种、80%的典型生态系统，湿地保护率提高到53.26%，生态状况明显好转。
The past 7-month figures are more encouraging. The number of days with good air quality reached 131. Particularly, for four consecutive months from April to July, a number of key indicators reached the best level in recent years, and the ambient air quality reached the national Grade II standard in terms of PM2.5 concentration. In May and June, the number of good air days increased by 5.6 days and 3.3 days respectively, ranking first in China.
今年前7个月的数据更是喜人，全省优良天数131天；特别是4、5、6、7月连续4个月多项指标达到近年来最好水平，且PM2.5浓度实现环境空气质量二级达标；5、6月份优良天数同比分别增加5.6天、3.3天，在全国各省份中均排名第一。
With the in-depth implementation of the Blue Water Project and the intensified fight against water pollution, the proportion of good water quality of the 4 major river basins has reached more than 70 percent, and the water quality compliance rate of urban centralized drinking water sources 100 percent.
随着深入实施碧水工程，持续打好水污染防治攻坚战，四大流域水质优良比例总体达到70%以上，城市集中式饮用水水源地取水水质达标率100%。
At present, the sewage treatment capacity of Henan stands at 11.67 million tons/day, the annual sewage treatment capacity 3.55 billion cubic meters, and the centralized treatment rate of urban sewage 97 percent.
目前，全省污水处理能力1167万吨/日，年处理污水量35.5亿立方米，城市污水集中处理率达到97%。
Today, Henan is working to build itself into a modern and beautiful province where humanity and nature coexist in harmony.
