Henan plays a significant role in the nation's ecological and environmental conservation due to its favorable geographical position, with the Yangtze River, the Yellow River, the Huaihe River and the Haihe River running through the province, and the Taihang Mountains, Funiu Mountains and Dabie Mountains providing abundant natural resources.
河南地跨长江、黄河、淮河、海河四大流域，有太行山、伏牛山、大别山等山脉，在全国生态格局中具有重要地位。

First, major national strategies have paid off. Over 1200 kilometers of high-quality Yellow River ecological corridor have been built, and the water quality of the Yellow River flowing into East China's Shandong province from Henan has remained stable in Class II.
首先，落实重大国家战略有力有效。高标准建设沿黄复合型生态廊道1200多公里，黄河出豫水质稳定保持Ⅱ类。
Second, its ecological environment has improved comprehensively. In 2022, the density of PM10 and PM2.5 has been reduced by 21.8 percent and 18.6 percent respectively over 2017. The water environment quality has reached its best level in history.
其次，生态环境质量全面改善。2022年PM10、PM2.5较2017年分别下降21.8%、18.6%，水环境质量处于有监测记录以来历史最好水平。
Third, the green and low-carbon transformation of its development modes has seen obvious progress. Energy consumption per unit of GDP has been reduced by 37.3 percent, and outdated coal-fired power plants with a capacity of 6 million kilowatts have been eliminated.
第三，绿色低碳转型成效明显。单位生产总值能耗累计降低37.3%，淘汰落后煤电机组600万千瓦。
It is worth noting that Henan has embraced 16 national demonstration zones for eco-environmental progress and 345 nature reserves with a forest coverage rate standing at 25.07 percent.
此外，河南国家生态文明建设示范区已达16个、自然保护地345处、森林覆盖率25.07%。（杨佳欣）
