The 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE), which has attracted over 3,400 exhibitors globally, showcases China's new development paradigm and builds a broad platform for global business to gain more opportunities in the world's most promising market.
The following are the highlights of comments by businessmen, officials and experts from around the globe on this grand business carnival:
-- "We believe that investing in China is investing in the future," said L'Oreal Chairman Jean-Paul Agon. With a market that is further opened up, an improved business environment and promising domestic demand boosted by initiatives, China is offering the world new opportunities, he said.
-- The CIIE "practices true multilateralism and builds more open consensus, and thus is particularly valuable for the economic development of today's world," said Zhang Xiqiang, executive vice president of Swiss food giant Nestle.
-- "The size of China's market is huge, offering many growth opportunities for companies from other countries. By participating in the CIIE, international companies can gain easier access to the Chinese market, while China can also establish more trade partners with various countries," Low Kian Chuan, president of the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM), told Xinhua in a recent interview.
-- "The CIIE offers exciting new platforms for global businesses and partners to strengthen ties, exchange ideas steeped in innovation, and forge lasting relationships with one another," said Josie Zhang, president of Burberry China.
-- "CIIE is a clear sign of China's support for globalization and its willingness to open its markets to the world. Its mission is to provide a platform for countries and businesses to expand trade relations and showcase the opportunities within China's vast market," said Luigi Gambardella, president of ChinaEU, a business-led international digital association in Brussels.
