Blizzards occurred throughout Henan province from Sunday to Monday, with some areas receiving 18 of snow, according to the Henan Meteorological Service.
The center said the blizzards hit Zhengzhou, Luoyang, Jiyuan, Jiaozuo, and Pingdingshan, while many other areas experienced sleet or slight to moderate rain.
Due to the lousy weather, the Zhengzhou Education Bureau issued suspension notices. Junior high schools, primary schools, and kindergartens took suspension measures on Monday and will continue the measures depending on weather conditions.
Anyang and Xinxiang also took suspension measures.
The weather has also affected the province's road, railway, and air traffic. 22 flights were canceled at the Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport, and related sections of 46 expressways were closed on Monday morning.
According to related authorities, train operations, including many high-speed trains, were also suspended.134 road sections across China, including 95 high-speed and four ordinary national roads, were closed due to snowfall and icy roads.
