Henan's passenger trips up 17.1% in Spring Festival holiday
河南省春节假期发送旅客同比增长17.1%
Over the past 8-day Spring Festival holiday (February 10 to 17), Central China's Henan province saw about 8.50 million passenger trips with a year-on-year increase of 17.1 percent. Among them, road trips totaled 3.416 million, up 12.32 percent, while passenger trips made via waterways soared 43.3 percent to 0.252 million. During the same period, passenger trips using railway system and civil aviation stood at 4.098 million and 0.733 million, rising 22.2 percent and 5.6 percent respectively from the previous year.
为期8天的春节假期结束，据初步统计，2月10日至17日（正月初一至初八），河南省累计发送旅客约850万人次，同比增长17.1%，其中公路运输341.6万人次，同比增长12.32%；水路25.2万人次，同比增长43.3%；铁路409.8万人次，同比增长22.2%；民航73.3万人次，同比增长5.6%。
Highways recorded an average daily flow of over 2 million vehicles since February 10, with a peak and record high of 3.4069 million on February 15, because of the changing travel habits and the extended toll-free policy. The expressway traffic volume reached about 24.006 million passenger vehicles, up 14.4 percent, while about 47.696 million vehicles were made on the national and provincial trunk highways, jumping 4.0 percent compared to the previous year.
值得一提的是，随着公众出行习惯发生结构性变化，加上春节假期高速公路免费时长增加等因素影响，2月10日起，河南省高速公路每天车流量达200万辆以上，2月15日达到破纪录的340.69万辆。假日期间，高速公路出口流量约2400.6万辆，同比增长14.4%；国省干线交通流量约4769.6万辆，同比增长4.0%。
The traffic and passenger flow showed a wave-like feature. The traffic peak occurred on February 7 before the Spring Festival, dropped gradually to the lowest point on February 10 and continued to recover afterwards.
