New venue of Yinxu Museum to open on Feb 26

殷墟博物馆新馆将于2月26日开馆

众多文物首次亮相

 

A news conference was held by the National Cultural Heritage Administration in Beijing on February 19 to summarize the achievements of Anyang city in Central China's Henan province on the inheritance and development of oracle bone inscriptions, introduce the construction and opening arrangements of the new venue of the Museum of Yinxu (or the Yin Ruins), and call for support for digitalization of oracle bone inscriptions worldwide.

2月19日上午，国家文物局在北京召开新闻发布会，通报安阳关于殷墟甲骨传承发展工作成效，重点介绍殷墟博物馆新馆建设情况和开馆有关安排，呼吁支持甲骨文全球数字化采集等工作。

According to the news conference, the new venue is scheduled to open on February 26. Covering an area of about 22 thousand square meters, the new venue will display almost 4 thousand pieces/sets of artifacts, including bronze wares, pottery wares, jade articles, oracle bones, etc.

记者从发布会上获悉，安阳殷墟博物馆新馆将于2024年2月26日（农历正月十七）正式开馆。殷墟博物馆新馆展厅面积约2.2万平方米，将展出青铜器、陶器、玉器、甲骨等文物近4000件套。

The new venue possesses the largest number and most complete types of artifacts from the Shang Dynasty (1600-1046 BC), with more than three-quarters of artifacts exhibited and a series of new archaeological achievements unveiled for the first time, such as the bronze wares of the mid-Shang Dynasty, the burial objects from the tombs of Ya Zhi and Ma Wei, etc. Besides, over 110 pieces of oracle bones from H3 Oracle Bone Pit as well as all the burial objects from the tomb of Ya Zhang will be on display. It is worth noting that 23 chariots will also be exhibited.

展陈文物数量之多、类型之全，都是商代文物展览之最。其中，四分之三以上的珍贵文物属于首次亮相，一系列考古新成果属于首次展示。诸如集中展示的商代中期的青铜器，成组展示的亚址墓、马危墓等随葬器物。此外，还将集中展示110余片花园庄东地H3甲骨窖藏坑出土甲骨，以及亚长墓出土的全部文物。值得一提的是，此次还集中展示了殷墟出土的23辆马车，游客可一睹当时车辚辚马萧萧的壮观景象。

After reservation, please save the QR code for check-in, and enter the museum with your valid ID card. Visitors with other certificates, such as passports and household registration books, can get tickets at the ticket windows.
