The charging volume of electric vehicles in Henan province has advanced to a new level amid the Chinese New Year period, said a local power supplier.
During the eight-day Spring Festival holiday, the charging times for EVs in Henan stood at 1.06 million, with a total charging volume of 27.96 million kWh, marking a year-on-year increase of 49 percent and reaching a record high, State Grid Henan Electric Power Co said on Sunday.
The charging volume is equivalent to reducing the consumption of 3.25 million liters of 92-grade gasoline, the power supplier said.
In order to secure smooth charging services during holiday times, Henan has established a real-time maintenance platform and arranged personnel at key stations during peak hours, assisting users in charging around the clock. To date, a total of 779 maintenance personnel have been on duty, completing 729 inspection patrols and 849 related tasks, said the company.
Henan has been accelerating the construction of a digitalized, intelligent and efficient charging infrastructure system in recent years. According to the latest data from Henan's smart charging service platform, the province now holds 6,494 public charging stations and 70,885 charging piles.
