Henan Province Scientist Selected for "21st Century Global Ophthalmic Leaders List"

河南省科学家入选“21世纪全球眼科领袖榜”

  

On March 3rd, it was reported by the Henan Academy of Medical Sciences that the award ceremony for the "21st Century Global Ophthalmic Leaders List" was held at the Annual Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology(APAO), where 24 ophthalmic leaders from around the world were honored. Among them, Prof. Wang Ningli, the Dean of the Henan Academy of Medical Sciences and Beijing Tongren Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University, was listed. He is also the only scientist from mainland China to be selected.

3月3日,记者从河南省医学科学院获悉,日前,“21世纪全球眼科领袖榜”颁奖典礼在亚太眼科学会年会上举行,共有24位来自世界各地的眼科界领袖获奖。其中,河南省医学科学院院长、首都医科大学附属北京同仁医院王宁利教授榜上有名,他也是中国内地唯一入选的科学家。



The APAO Annual Meeting is one of the most influential ophthalmic events in Asia. At this congress, nearly ten thousand top ophthalmic experts from around the world gathered to discuss cutting-edge achievements and technologies. The "21st Century Global Ophthalmic Leaders List" is organized by the prestigious international journal "Asia-Pacific Journal of Ophthalmology" (APJO) with the aim of recognizing the most influential ophthalmologists globally in the 21st century. The goal is to select 100 of the most influential global ophthalmic leaders by the end of the 21st century.

据了解,亚太眼科学会年会是亚洲最有影响力的眼科盛会之一,本次会议上,全球顶尖的近万名眼科专家汇聚一堂,共同探讨前沿成果与技术。“21世纪全球眼科领袖榜”由国际权威杂志《亚太眼科杂刊》主办,旨在表彰21世纪在全球最有影响力的眼科医生,目标是“到21世纪末共选出100名21世纪影响力最大的全球眼科领袖”。

  

The selection attracted active participation from the global ophthalmic community, receiving a total of 163 nominations. The judging panel, consisting of 30 industry experts from 19 countries, evaluated the candidates. The first batch of 24 winners of the "21st Century Global Ophthalmic Leaders List" came from 12 countries, representing outstanding achievements in their respective fields, highlighting the global coverage and influence of ophthalmology. These outstanding ophthalmic experts have driven the advancement and innovation of ophthalmology, making significant contributions to global eye health.

这次评选吸引了全球眼科界积极参与,共收到163个提名,由19个国家的30名业内专家组成了评审委员会。“21世纪全球眼科领袖榜”的首批24位得奖者来自12个国家,代表了各自专科领域的卓越成就,凸显了眼科学的全球覆盖范围和影响力。这些杰出的眼科专家推动了眼科学的进步和创新,为全球眼健康作出了重要贡献。



As the only mainland Chinese selected, Wang Ningli is also a Fellow of the International Academy of Ophthalmology and the President-elect of the World Glaucoma Association(WGA). He is a leading expert in the field of ophthalmology in China and has made outstanding contributions to the international academic development of glaucoma. He has also been selected as one of the "Top 100 Most Influential Ophthalmologists in the World" five times.

作为我国内地唯一入选者,王宁利也是国际眼科科学院院士、世界青光眼协会候任主席,是我国眼科领域首屈一指的专家,在国际青光眼学术发展方面作出了突出贡献。他还先后五次入选“全球最具影响力百名眼科医生”。

  

With over 30 years of experience in clinical, teaching, and research work in ophthalmology, Wang Ningli has mainly focused on basic and clinical research in glaucoma, cataracts, refractive errors, and genetic eye diseases. He led the team to design and develop the world's first panoramic ultrasound biomicroscope for ophthalmic use with independent intellectual property rights, established a Chinese treatment regimen for closed-angle glaucoma, created a new classification of pathogenesis, and proposed "the Ocular-Cranial Pressure Gradient Theory" for the first time internationally. In recent years, he has published 302 academic papers in the field of glaucoma, ranking first globally. He was the first author to receive the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2013 and 2014, as well as five first prizes at the provincial and ministerial levels, and received awards such as the Ho Leung Ho Lee Science and Technology Award and the Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Award.

从事眼科临床医教研和防盲工作30余年,王宁利主要致力于青光眼、白内障、屈光和遗传眼病等方面的基础和临床研究。他带领团队首先设计研发出世界上具有自主知识产权的眼用全景超声生物显微镜,建立了闭角青光眼的中国治疗方案,创建了发病机制的新分类,并在国际上首次提出“眼颅压力梯度学说”。近年来,他在青光眼领域发表论文302篇,排名全球首位;以第一完成人获得2013年和2014年国家科技进步奖二等奖,获得省部级一等奖5项,获得何梁何利科技奖、光华工程科技奖等奖项。(中文来源:河南日报 记者:李倩 李晓敏 编译 审校:宋根成 周金淼)
