The Zhengzhou Shang Dynasty Capital City Ruins, also known as the Bo Capital, is the capital city site of the early to middle Shang Dynasty. It witnessed the establishment of the monarchy system, the mature period of the Bronze Age, and is considered the birthplace of Chinese characters, providing important evidence for Zhengzhou being included in the "Eight Ancient Capitals" of China.

The Ruins is divided into the palace area, the inner city and outer city, with the inner city wall being the most well-preserved. The layout of the inner city wall presents an irregular rectangle, with the northern wall approximately 1,690 meters long, the western wall about 1,870 meters long, and both the southern and eastern walls 1,700 meters long. The widths of the wall's bottom and top are about 20 meters and 5 meters respectively, and the reconstructed wall is about 10 meters high.

Based on the significant archaeological discoveries at Zhengzhou Shang Dynasty Capital City Ruins, it was designated as one of the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units in 1961. In 2000, it served as evidence for the transition from the Xia to Shang dynasties in the Xia-Shang-Zhou Chronology Project. In 2001, it was rated as one of "China's Top 100 Archaeological Discoveries" in the 20th century, and in 2021, it was selected as one of “China's Top 100 Archaeological Discoveries of the Century."
