As an old saying goes, China will be free from hunger when Henan has a bumper harvest. With only 6 percent of China's arable land, Henan produces 10 percent of the country's grain, with wheat alone accounting for a quarter of the total output. Every year Henan contributes over 30 billion kilograms of raw grain and processed products to other provinces, playing a vital role in safeguarding the nation's food security.
中原熟，天下足。河南用全国6％的耕地生产了全国10％的粮食，其中小麦产量占全国的1/4强，每年调出原粮及其制成品超过600亿斤，为保障国家粮食安全作出了重要贡献。

The agricultural product processing industry is one of the two "1-trillion-yuan ($138.9 billion) industries" in Henan.
