Henan Native Clinches Gold at Belgian Open Taekwondo 2024

Henan's athlete, Xiao Chenming, secured the gold medal in the male's 68kg weight class at the 2024 World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) Belgian Open, held in Lommel, Belgium, on March 16, according to Henan Provincial Heavy Competition Aviation Sports Center.

This G2 Belgian Open Taekwondo 2024, offering champions 20 Olympic points, drew competitors from around the world. Chinese athletes Xiao Chenming and his teammate Liang Yushuai both reached the semi-finals of the men’s 68kg category. Xiao won two games in a row, ultimately securing the men's 68kg title, while Liang Yushuai clinched third place. For the Chinese Taekwondo team, the Belgian Open served as their inaugural international challenge of this year, with 11 athletes representing China across 7 categories. 世跆联比利时公开赛河南小伙夺金牌

记者从河南省重竞技航空运动中心获悉，当地时间3月16日，2024世跆联（WTF）比利时公开赛成年组的比赛在比利时洛默尔举行，河南选手肖晨鸣夺得男子68公斤级金牌。

本次赛事为G2级别，冠军可获得20个奥运积分，吸引了各国强手参赛，竞争激烈。肖晨鸣和队友梁育帅均闯进男子68公斤级半决赛，肖晨鸣连胜两场，夺得男子68公斤级冠军，梁育帅获得季军。比利时公开赛是中国跆拳道队本年度首场海外比赛，中国跆拳道队共有11位运动员参加7个级别的角逐。最终，中国队以3金2银2铜的成绩圆满收官。（中文来源/河南日报 记者/黄晖 编译/童林 审校/焦丹）
