Throughput at Xinyang Huaibin Port up 203% y-o-y

On March 14, cargo ships were busy unloading at the terminal of Huaibin Central Port in Xinyang city of Central China's Henan province, with various carts driving to and fro. To ensure smooth logistics of iron ore, grain, etc., Huaibin Central Port has scientifically strengthened its inner management related to personnel, vehicles and machinery.
3月14日，在信阳港·淮滨中心港码头，满载货物的货船正在卸货，来往运输车辆络绎不绝。为保证铁矿砂、粮食等货物的有序作业，淮滨中心港加强生产组织，科学调配人员、车辆、机械。
"The shipment behind me is soybeans and rice, which will be loaded onto a cargo vessel within a few hours and shipped to Nanchang tomorrow. There are more orders this year. Preparations for the third batch of cargo are underway, which will be ready for shipment soon." Tian Qile, general manager of Xinyang Zhongyu Freight Forwarding Co., Ltd. told Henan Daily.
“我身后这批货是大豆和水稻，在几个小时以后可以装齐，明天出发到南昌。今年订单比较多，第三批货源正在组织，马上准备上船。”信阳市中豫货运代理有限公司总经理田琪乐介绍。
This year, Huaibin Kuanyu Grain and Oil Purchasing and Marketing Co., Ltd. also chooses Huaibin Central Port. "In the past, our goods were mainly transported by road or rail, but after being recommended by peers, water transport is now our priority choice, which is convenient and cost-effective, helping lower our logistics cost by 20 percent to 30 percent," said Zhu Haoran, business manager of Kuanyu Grain and Oil.
淮滨县宽裕粮油购销有限公司今年选择到淮滨中心港运输货物。“之前公司货物通过公路运输或者铁路运输，后来在同行的建议下选择水路运输，成本节约了20%—30%，不仅方便，还很划得来。”该公司业务经理祝浩然说。
Covering an area of 1,500 mu (1 mu equals 666 square meters), Huaibin Central Port is not only the largest integrated single port in Henan but also the most efficient one linking Henan with the Yangtze River and the coastal provinces with the fewest gates and the shortest distance. Besides, it is also a port with the strongest navigation capacity and the largest single-vessel docking capacity in Henan. So far, Huaibin Central Port has opened 10 container shipping routes to Fengyang, Yancheng, Hefei, Wuhu, Yangluo, etc., with businesses covering more than 10 provinces across China, such as Hubei, Anhui, and Jiangsu.
信阳港·淮滨中心港区占地1500亩，是河南省最大的综合性单体港口，是牵手中原、进入长江距离最近、船闸最少、到达沿海时效最快捷的港口，也是河南通航能力最强、单船停靠能力最大的港口。港口自开航以来，已开通至凤阳、盐城、合肥、芜湖、阳逻等10条集装箱航线，货物运输辐射豫鄂皖苏等10余个省份。
The economy around Huaibin Central Port is prosperous. Xinyang Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. of Anyang Iron and Steel Group, as well as the Central Grain Reserve Xinyang Direct Warehouse Co., Ltd. and numerous grain trading firms provide ample sources for the port. Currently, the main types of cargo handled at the port include iron ore, grain, sand, gravel, outdoor furniture, panels, steel strips, textiles, etc., forming a coordinated development system featuring both bulk cargo and container services.
淮滨中心港周边经济发达，安钢集团信阳钢铁有限责任公司、中储粮直属库以及众多粮食贸易商等为港口提供了充足的货源。目前，港口主要货运品种包括铁矿砂、粮食、砂石、户外家居、板材、钢带、纺织品等，形成件散货和集装箱作业并行发展的丰富货源体系。
Huaibin Central Port has been fully exercising its strengths since January to strive for a good start in the first quarter. As of March 11, the port has handled a container throughput of 8,271 TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 203 percent.
