The legendary accomplishments of Yu the Great are increasingly being confirmed by archaeology. The Wangchenggang site in Dengfeng, Henan Province, may be Yangcheng, a capital city of the Xia Dynasty or where Yu the Great lived. Yu the Great's water control efforts are both myth and history, recorded inhistorical texts such as the "Records of the Grand Historian" and inscribed on landmarks like the Qimu Que Gates in Henan.
