World Emoji Day Special: 'Amazing Oracle Bone Scripts: Twelve Zodiac Signs' Emoji Pack Launched

On World Emoji Day, July 17th, Henan Daily teamed up with Tsinghua University's Research Center of Ancient Chinese Characters Art and Tencent's Sogou Pinyin Method to launch the "Amazing Oracle Bone Scripts: Twelve Zodiac Signs" emoji pack.

The "Amazing Oracle Bone Scripts: Twelve Zodiac Signs" emoji pack was masterminded by Chen Nan, a tenured professor and doctoral supervisor at Tsinghua University's Academy of Arts and Design, and the executive deputy director of the Research Center of Ancient Chinese Characters Art. Professor Chen's team has previously created the first oracle bone script pool and developed 12 sets of oracle bone script emoji packs, all of which have garnered widespread acclaim.

“了不起的甲骨文·十二生肖”表情包由清华大学美术学院长聘教授、博士生导师，中国古文字艺术研究中心常务副主任陈楠及团队设计。陈楠教授团队不仅设计了首款甲骨文字库，还先后设计研发了12套甲骨文表情包，推出后受到广泛好评。

This new emoji pack showcases12 oracle bone script characters, each representing a zodiac sign with an auspicious name and a contemporary aesthetic. The collection includes Lucky Rat, Promising Calf, Courageous Tiger, Auspicious Rabbit, Soaring Dragon, Wishful Snake, Thousand-li Horse, Happy Sheep, Wise Monkey, Daybreak-heralding Rooster, Prosperous Dog, and Lucky Pig. Users can easily find an emoji corresponding to their own zodiac sign. Moreover, the pack integrates modern Chinese characters such as "Amazing ×××" and the "Like" gesture, complemented by dynamic effects that make each emoji vibrant and distinctive.

本次推出的表情包一组12个，选用古老甲骨文中的十二生肖字形，赋予吉祥称谓与现代视觉活力，包括纳福鼠、孺子牛、勇气虎、吉祥兔、腾飞龙、如意蛇、千里马、喜乐羊、智慧猴、报晓鸡、兴旺犬、转运猪，每个人都能找到专属于自己的生肖表情包。表情包还融合了“了不起的×××”等现代汉字和“点赞”手势，搭配动态效果，生动活泼、别具一格。

This emoji pack is the latest result of cooperation between the "Amazing Oracle Bone Scripts" project by Henan Daily and Professor Chen Nan's team at Tsinghua University, supported technically by Tencent Sogou Pinyin Method. Leveraging its large user base and strong technical capabilities, Sogou Pinyin Method enables smooth downloading and usage of the Oracle Zodiac emojis, offering users a unique cultural experience.

Currently, emojis play a vital role in online social interaction, prized for their vivid, tangible, and life like expressions. The blending of ancient oracle bone script—China’s earliest mature writing system, with modern social media emojis, bridges a gap of over 3,000 years, merging ancient and contemporary forms of communication.
