Discovering Qi Ying's Henan bond through Olympic glory

这位奥运亚军 有些“河南缘分”

On the evening of July 30 (Beijing time), the men's trap shooting final of the 2024 Paris Olympics concluded at the Chateauroux Shooting Center. British shooter Nathan Hales and Chinese shooter Qi Ying broke Olympic records with scores of 48 and 44 respectively, winning the gold and silver medals.

北京时间7月30日晚，2024年巴黎奥运会射击项目男子多向飞碟决赛在沙托鲁射击中心战罢，英国选手哈尔斯和中国选手齐迎分别以48中和44中的成绩打破奥运会纪录，摘下金牌和银牌。

As a Shandong athlete, Qi Ying has a special connection with Henan. From 2015 to 2019, Qi Ying was an athlete who received joint training from the provinces of Shandong and Henan. He studied at the School of Physical Education of Zhengzhou University, which is now known as Henan Sport University.

作为一名山东运动员，齐迎却与河南也有着特殊的“缘分”——2015年至2019年，齐迎曾作为山东和河南联合培养的运动员，在郑州大学体育学院，也就是如今的河南体育学院学习。

The men's trap shooting final featured six participants, including the world record holder from Britain, Nathan Hales, Chinese shooter Qi Ying, Sweden's Rickard Levin-Andersson, Australia's James Willett, American Derrick Mein, and Guatemala's Jean Pierre Brol Cardenas.

男子多向飞碟决赛共六位选手参赛，包括世界纪录保持者、英国选手哈尔斯，中国选手齐迎，瑞典选手安德森，澳大利亚选手维莱特，美国选手德里克·梅因，危地马拉选手卡德纳斯。

After the first 25 shots in the basic shooting round, Hales ranked first with 24 hits out of 25, while Qi Ying ranked second with 23 hits. In the elimination round, after 5 shots, Willett was the first to be eliminated, ranking the sixth place. Following another 5 shots, Hales missed once, Qi Ying missed twice, and Anderson's three misses cost him a chance at a medal.

第一阶段25发基础射击后，英国选手哈尔斯以25发24中排名第一，齐迎以23中排名第二。进入第二阶段淘汰赛，5发射击之后，澳大利亚选手维莱特率先出局，获得第六名。随后5发，哈尔斯出现一次脱靶，齐迎两次脱靶，而安德森的三次脱靶，导致他无缘奖牌。

The next 5 shots determined the bronze medalist. At this point, there was a tie between Qi Ying and Cardenas with both scoring 35 hits out of 40 shots. However, due to Qi Ying's higher qualification ranking in the preliminary round (first place), Cardenas was awarded the bronze medal.

接下来的5发决定了铜牌归属，这时场上出现同分情况，齐迎和卡德纳斯同样是40发35中，由于齐迎资格赛排名更高（第一），所以卡德纳斯获得铜牌。

In the final round of 10 shots that determined the gold and silver medalists, world record holder Hales shot flawlessly, hitting 48 out of 50 targets. This score was only 1 short of his own world record, but it already surpassed the previous Olympic record of 43 hits.

最后分出冠亚军的10发子弹，世界纪录保持者哈尔斯弹无虚发，48中的成绩距离他的世界纪录只差1中，但已经刷新了43中的奥运会纪录。

Qi Ying also broke the Olympic record with a score of 44 hits, earning a valuable silver medal, China's first Olympic medal in this event.

齐迎以44中的成绩同样打破了奥运会纪录，收获一枚宝贵的银牌，这也是中国队在该项目的首枚奥运会奖牌。

From 2015 to 2019, Qi Ying studied sports training in Henan before being selected into the national team. During his university years, Qi Ying had to balance both academic studies and training, often commuting between Beijing and Zhengzhou. Qi Ying demonstrated outstanding personal qualities and professional competence in those days of hard work, leaving a profound impression on the instructors at Henan Sport University.

据了解，齐迎于2015年至2019年在河南就读于运动训练专业，后入选国家队集训。大学期间，齐迎需要兼顾学业和训练，长期在北京、郑州两头跑。凭借刻苦学习的精神，齐迎的个人综合素质和专业能力都非常突出，给河南体育学院的授课老师留下了深刻印象。

At last year's Hangzhou Asian Games, Qi Ying clinched the championship after a thrilling and intense competition. He mentioned that winning the Asian Games championship was an important step towards the Olympics.

去年的杭州亚运会，齐迎在一场险象环生的角逐后拿到冠军。他表示，亚运会冠军的经历对于奥运会是一种铺垫。
