Sixty years ago, hundreds of thousands of people in Linxian county (now Linzhou city), Anyang city, central China's Henan province, took on the Taihang Mountains with nothing but hammers, steel drills, and unwavering determination. They carved out what became known as the “Man-made River in the Sky" - the Red Flag Canal - bringing an end to an era when water was as scarce and precious as oil.

Today, this lifeline still flows strong, breathing new life into the region. Lush ecological corridors stretch as far as the eye can see, smart farming technologies are transforming the fields, and Miaohuang Village has become a popular online destination.

During a recent visit, Dr. Ronald, a hydraulic engineering PhD student from Cameroon, was deeply impressed. "From a 'Lifeline Canal' to an 'Ecological Canal,' the Red Flag Canal is once again amazing the world," he said.
