2025 World Pork Event makes debut in Nanyang city, central China's Henan province

2025世界猪肉大会（WPE）在南阳举办

For the first time in its history, the World Pork Event (WPE) was held in China, convening in Nanyang city, Henan province, from April 7 to 8, 2025. The event brought together representatives from over 70 companies across 13 countries, marking a significant milestone in global pork industry collaboration.

4月7日至8日，由牧原食品股份有限公司承办的“2025世界猪肉大会（WPE）”在南阳成功举办，来自全球13个国家70余家企业的代表齐聚南阳，共话猪肉产业发展。据了解，这是该活动首次在中国举办。

Originally established in 2010 by Topigs Norsvin, Europe's leading pig breeding company, the WPE aims to create a global platform for industry dialogue, fostering partnerships and sharing advancements in pig farming. This year's event, themed "The way forward for sustainable pork production," focused on enhancing efficiency, maximizing output, and building resilience within the pork industry, to ensure a sustainable supply chain.

世界猪肉大会（WPE）是由欧洲最大的猪育种公司托佩克（TopigsNorsvin）于2010年组织发起并主办，旨在搭建全球产业对话平台，汇聚全球行业伙伴，分享养猪业的信息和发展，共同探讨养猪未来，共谋行业良性发展。本届大会以“可持续猪肉生产的未来之路”为主题，旨在探讨全球猪肉行业生产者在提升效率、最大化产出，构建更加韧性的猪肉行业创新路径，确保未来可持续的猪肉供应。

Nanyang's selection as the host city underscores its growing prominence in the pork industry. The city has long regarded its livestock sector as a cornerstone of economic development, become a global hub for cost-effective and ecologically sustainable pig farming. The city underscores the significance of original innovation to drive industrial transformation, incorporating advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence to modernize pig farming practices and cultivate forward-looking industries. By consistently upholding stringent food safety standards, Nanyang has propelled its green food industry cluster to exceed an output value of 170 billion yuan.

南阳市委书记王智慧介绍道，一直以来南阳坚持“牧”业筑基，打造全球生猪养殖成本洼地和生态高地；强化“原”力托举，推动原始创新与产业升级；推进“肉”链升级，布局AI智能养殖和未来产业；坚守“食”安天下，助力南阳绿色食品产业集群突破1700亿元。

During the event, attendees were engaged in discussions on industry innovation, efficiency, and adaptability, as well as explore practical solutions for sustainable development.

大会期间，嘉宾们聚焦行业创新、效率和适应能力，探索切实可行的可持续发展解决方案，致力于塑造一个高效高产，更具适应全球格局演变的猪肉行业。

Qin Yinglin, Chairman of Muyuan Foods Co., Ltd., the event's organizer, emphasized the company's commitment to advancing pig breeding, intelligent equipment, and industry connectivity, aiming to benefit pigs, people, and the broader industry.
