45 tombs discovered in Sanmenxia, Henan

三门峡发掘出45座古墓，战国至清“地下陕州”重见天日

Archaeologists have discovered 45 tombs from various dynasties and periods in Sanmenxia, Central China's Henan province, including the Warring States Period (475-221 BC), the Northern Dynasties (386-581), the Tang Dynasty (618-907), and the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), according to Sanmenxia Yangshao Culture Institute (formerly Sanmenxia Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology) on December 1.

12月1日，记者从三门峡市仰韶文化研究中心（原三门峡市文物考古研究所）了解到，考古人员在三门峡市开发区西北部发现清理出45座墓葬，涉及战国、北朝、唐、清等朝代。

Located north of Shangmao Road and west of Dizhu Road, the cemetery was discovered during a field survey conducted ahead of the construction of new dormitory buildings and sports facilities at Sanmenxia Foreign Language Senior High School, according to Gao Ming, a staff member of the institute.

据研究中心工作人员高鸣介绍，该墓地是为配合三门峡市教育局拟建的三门峡市外国语高级中学新建宿舍楼及体育运动场地建设项目勘探发现的，项目位于商贸路以北、砥柱路以西。

So far, numerous artifacts have been unearthed, including tower-shaped jars, tri-colored glazed pots, bronze mirrors and ornaments, coins, pottery inkstones, and more.   

经对前期考古调查勘探发现的墓葬进行发掘，发现塔形罐、三彩执壶、铜镜、铜饰件、铜钱、陶砚台等文物。

According to Gao Ming, "The cemetery lies just east of the ancient town of Shanzhou and about 400 meters south of the Yellow River. By comparing the artifacts unearthed this time with those from previous archaeological excavations in Sanmenxia, researchers suggest that the cemetery was used by local residents during the Warring States Period, the Northern Dynasties, the Tang Dynasty, and the Qing Dynasty. The findings provide valuable materials for studying the local funeral customs across these periods."

“该考古工地西部紧临陕州古城，北部与黄河相距仅约400米，根据几处墓葬的形制和出土文物与三门峡此前多处墓葬出土文物相比较，有可能是战国、北朝、唐代和清代陕州城内人们的墓地。此次发现为研究三门峡地区战国、北朝、唐代和清代的丧葬习俗提供了宝贵材料。”谈及此次发掘的重要意义，高鸣说。（中文来源/大河网 记者/莫绍华 编译/杨佳欣 审校/张军平 赵汉青）
