Henan releases annual wheat report: Over 99% rated Grade III or above
河南小麦年度成绩单出炉 三等以上占比达99%
On December 2, 2025, Henan province released its annual wheat quality report, revealing strong results for the year. The province's summer wheat output totaled 75 billion jin ( 37.5 million metric tons). Notably, 99% of the wheat was graded above Grade III, and 69.5% met high-quality standards.
12月2日,2025年河南省收购小麦质量品质信息发布会召开,全省小麦年度成绩单正式揭晓:河南夏粮总产达750.01亿斤,交出了三等以上小麦占比99%、优质率69.5%的高质量答卷。
As the "Granary of the Central Plains", which produces over a quarter of the nation's wheat, Henan has been conducting annual wheat quality surveys for 25 consecutive years. This year marks the 14th public release of the results. The survey covered all 17 of Henan's prefecture-level cities and Jiyuan Industry-City Integration Demonstration Zone, with 3,571 samples from 590 wheat varieties collected for quality grading and 545 samples from 176 varieties tested for quality, offering solid backing for the industry’s growth.
作为小麦产量占全国超四分之一的“中原粮仓”,河南已连续25年开展小麦质量调查与品质测报,今年是第14年对外发布相关信息。此次调查采样覆盖全省17个省辖市及济源示范区,共采集质量调查样品3571份、涉及590个品种,品质测报样品545份、涵盖176个品种,为产业发展提供了权威支撑。
According to Hao Baoqing, Director of the Industrial Development Division at Henan's Bureau of Food and Strategic Reserves Administration, the wheat quality data shows an average specific weight of 794g/L, with 12 prefecture-level cities, including Jiaozuo, Puyang, and Luohe, meeting Grade I standards. The average moisture content stands at 11.3%, and the defective grain rate is 2.5%, both lower than last year, with the latter reaching a recent low. The average thousand-kernel weight is 45.1g, indicating plump and well-filled grains.
河南省粮食和物资储备局产业处处长郝宝青介绍,质量层面,全省小麦容重均值794g/L,焦作、濮阳、漯河等12个省辖市达一等标准;水分均值11.3%、不完善粒均值2.5%,均较去年下降,其中不完善粒均值处于近年低位;千粒重均值45.1g,颗粒饱满度优良。
The quality of the wheat is equally impressive, with 69.5% of the samples meeting the national high-quality wheat standards, aligning with the nearly 70% high-quality rate and the proportion of top-grade wheat. The average crude protein content is 14.1%, and the average wet gluten content is 32.5%, with the food score improving by 16 points compared to last year. The distribution of wheat varieties by gluten strength, strong, medium, and weak, is well-defined, with high-quality varieties such as Xinmai 26, Bainong 1316, and Aikang 58 performing especially well. Moreover, 13% of the samples meet the local standards, indicating that the high-quality wheat supply system is gradually taking shape.
品质层面同样可圈可点,69.5%的样品符合国家优质小麦标准,近七成优质率与高等级占比形成呼应。粗蛋白质含量均值14.1%、湿面筋含量均值32.5%,食品评分值较去年提升16分;强筋、中筋、弱筋品种布局清晰,新麦26、百农1316、矮抗58等优质品种表现突出,13%的样品符合《豫麦》地方标准,优质小麦供应体系逐步成型。(中文来源/河南日报 记者/李若凡 编译/杨佳欣 审校/丁岚 赵汉青)
