What's the function of the small-mouth pointed-bottom jars unearthed from the Miaodigou site?

Belonging to the Yangshao Culture period (dating back about 5,000 to 7,000 years), the small-mouth pointed-bottom jars were believed to be water collectors, because the Miaodigou people did not know how to drill wells at that time. But nowadays, new archaeological findings suggest that they were probably used for wine brewing.

Thousands of pie-shaped objects have been unearthed from the Miaodigou site. They usually range in diameter from 5 to 20 cm (70 percent are about 10 centimeters in diameter and weigh about 400 grams) with their raw materials collected from rivers and edges roughly processed.
答：圆饼形器，庙底沟遗址出土了数千。它们制作工艺简单，尺寸从5到20厘米不等，70%以上直径10厘米左右，重量400克左右。原材料通常收集自河边，边缘略微敲打即完成制作。
It is usually suggested that these pie-shaped objects functioned as hunting weapons made and used by the Miaodigou people at that time. Some experts believe that the smaller ones without blades were used as toys. Their original functions still require further study.
据考古专家推测，这些圆饼形器很可能是庙底沟人随身携带的投掷器，与狩猎有关。也有专家认为，小型的、无刃的圆饼形器，很可能是儿童的玩具。当然，它们的具体用途还需作进一步研究。（杨佳欣 何蒙贺）
