The Yellow River basin in Central China's Henan province accounts for 40.7 percent of the province's total land area. It is not only a key residential area, but also a major economic belt in Henan.
河南省黄河流域（以下简称“沿黄核心区”）占全省国土面积的40.7%，是全省的人口聚集地和主要经济带。
As for ecological conservation, since 2012, Henan has brought water and soil erosion on 11 thousand square kilometers of land in the Yellow River basin under control. Since 2014, 1.25 million people living in the Yellow River beach area covering 2,116 square kilometers have been relocated. Since 2019, the cleanup campaign against illegal riverside occupation, construction, mining and waste has become a systematic and standard practice. Accordingly, 501 kilometers of standard embankment have been built, making the Yellow River safer.
在生态保护方面，党的十八大以来，沿黄核心区已治理水土流失面积1.1万平方公里。2014年以来对2116平方公里、125万人居住的黄河滩区分步分批实施搬迁还滩，2019年以来攻坚“清四乱”歼灭战，建成501公里标准化堤防，黄河安全保障进一步增强。
As for high-quality development, in 2021, Henan's Yellow River basin contributed 3,368.1 billion yuan to the province's GDP, an increase of 72.2 percent over 2012, with a per capita GDP of 68,489 yuan, up 70.4 percent from 2012. Besides, the permanent resident population in the Yellow River basin is 47.80 million, accounting for 48.4 percent of that of the whole province. In 2021, the expenditure on science and technology in the Yellow River basin was 18.4 billion yuan, an increase of 364.9 percent over 2012, with the number of invention patents per 10 thousand people jumping 405.2 percent from 2012 to 6.5. Besides, the development of such sectors as manufacturing, service and foreign trade in the Yellow River basin are all at the forefront of Henan, driving and leading the high-quality development of the province's economy.
在高质量发展方面，2021年，沿黄核心区地区生产总值33681亿元，比2012年增长72.2%；人均地区生产总值68489元，比2012年增长70.4%。沿黄核心区常住人口4780万人，占全省的48.4%。2021年，沿黄核心区科学技术经费支出184亿元，比2012年增长364.9%；每万人发明专利拥有量6.5件，比2012年增长405.2%。同时，沿黄核心区的制造业、服务业、对外贸易等产业发展均居全省前列，承担着带动引领全省经济高质量发展的重任。
