Over 60 Chinese and international journalists and online celebrities participating in the nearly week-long tour of Hainan for representatives of international media organizations and social media personalities visited the Wuzhishan Section of Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park on November 30 to learn the development of tropical rainforest national park and ecological civilization.

Visit the Wuzhishan Section of Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park
The Wuzhishan Section of HainanTropical Rainforest National Park is located in the center of Hainan Island. It is the core area of Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park, with a total area of 534.08 square kilometers. It crosses Wuzhishan City and Qiongzhong County, of which 411.58 square kilometers are within Wuzhishan City, accounting for 77.06% of the total. Wuzhishan Mountain, located in Wuzhishan City, is the highest peak of Hainan, with an altitude of 1,867 meters. "Wuzhi" means five fingers in Chinese, and the mountain owes its name to its shape. It is the symbol and landmark of Hainan, as well as the "roof" of the island.
海南热带雨林国家公园五指山片区位于海南岛中部，是海南热带雨林国家公园的核心区域，总面积534.08平方公里，横跨五指山市、琼中县，其中五指山市境内411.58平方公里，占总面积的77.06%。境内有海南岛最高峰一一五指山，因五峰相连形如手指而得名，海拔1867米，是海南的象征、海南的名片，也是海南的“屋脊”。
Visit the Wuzhishan Section of Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park
The Wuzhishan Section is a nature reserve of forest ecosystems aiming mainly to protect the tropical rainforest ecosystem as well as rare or endangered wild animals and plants and their habitats. It is a nature reserve with high relative topography, complete vertical zonal vegetation types, and rich tropical vegetation and rainforest communities. The area plays a significant role in the conservation of biodiversity in China and the globe, which is also described as the "filter", "water tower" and "source of three rivers" of Hainan Island. It has been designated as a core area of environmental protection and water and soil conservation in Hainan. The area is extremely rich in plant and animal resources. There are 2,146 species of wild vascular plants, among which 6 species are under the county's first-class protection (Hopea hainanensis, Paphiopedilum purpuratum, Cycas taiwaniana, Cycas hainanensis, Paphiopedilum appletonianum, and Cymbidium insigne) and 85 species are under second-class state protection. In addition, 284 species of plantsare endemic to Hainan.
五指山片区是以保护热带雨林生态系统、珍稀动植物资源及栖息地为主的森林生态系统类型自然保护区，是海南岛海拔高差大、植被垂直带谱完整、热带植被类型多、雨林群落典型的自然保护区之一，生物多样性十分丰富，在中国乃至全球生物多样性保护中具有重大价值。同时也是海南岛的“滤芯”“水塔”和“三江源”，是海南岛生态保护和水土涵养的核心空间之一。五指山片区动植物资源极其丰富，记录野生维管束植物2146种，其中国家 I级保护野生植物6种（卷萼兜兰、美花兰、紫纹兜兰、坡垒、海南苏铁、闽粤苏铁），国家Ⅱ级保护野生植物85种，海南特有种野生植物284种。

According to incomplete statistics, the area shelters 283 species of birds, 67 species of fish and more than 1,700 species of insects. Of the total, 9 species of wild animals are listed under national first-class protection (kabaragoya, Hainan partridge, Hainan peacock-pheasant, clouded leopard, rasse, zibet, pangolin, Gorsachiusmagnificus, and Teinopalpusaureus, the only butterfly species protected atthe country's first level). About 50 animal species have been listed as second-class protected animals in China. Another 39 species are listed in CITES, 9 species in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species and 43 species in the China Red Data Book of Endangered Animals.
据不完全调查统计，五指山片区记录鸟类283种，鱼类67种，昆虫1700余种。列入国家I级保护野生动物9种（圆鼻巨蜥、海南山鹧鸪、海南孔雀雉、云豹、小灵猫、大灵猫、穿山甲、海南鳽，和中国唯一的蝶类国家I级保护野生动物金斑喙凤蝶）。列入国家Ⅱ级保护野生动物50种。列入CITES 公约附录39种，IUCN红皮书9种，中国濒危动物红皮书43种。（杨佳欣）
